What is the best route to take between Denver and Salt Lake City?

I'm taking a road trip this summer and want a scenic but also timely way to travel between the two. I'll be spending some time in Rocky Mt. Natl. park then on to Salt Lake City. Would Interstate 70 or 80 be better? What is the best route to take between Denver and Salt Lake City?
Not 80. Doesn't go anywhere near Denver. I'm not sure it passes through SLC, either.

Have you looked at a map?

You might want to turn off I 70 towards Winter Park and take US 40 for the scenic route...but I-70 would be the best time.

If you want to cut from Estes, down to Winter Park and turn at 40, that might be your best choice, skipping Denver altogether.
If you are traveling from Denver to Salt Lake, you're not going anywhere NEAR I 80. don't know WHAT these people are thinking! From CHICAGO, to Salt Lake, it's an option, but NOT from Denver. You have to travel almost three hours NORTH to get there.

It's a pretty drive either way. It's Much faster to just take I-80 but I-70 has more trees and mountains and it's much more scenic. I-80 if i remember right takes you through Flame Gorge which is a great place to see if you never have. It's a really hot area. Not real forestry but once you drive through it and get out of Wyoming the trees are back. I-70 is forestry most of the way but again it's longer.

I'll link the Route I usually take now because it's about just as fast as I-80 but without the really hot dry part and a lot more trees.

The only downside as you can see is you don't travel on any interstates.

HOPE THAT HELPS.
70 is a beautiful drive the whole way, 80 is mostly wyoming desert and signs that say "next town 250miles", but 80 is probably an hour faster
