What is it like to live in Salt Lake City for a single Asian male in his early 30's? I've never been to Utah so I was wondering what it is like out there. What is there to do, how are the people, is there diversity, ect.?
I just want to get some information on life in Salt Lake City. What is it like to live in Salt Lake City?
Salt lake is much more diverse now than is used to be. Of course still predominately white.
I have lived in Utah 2 years now. I learned about the LDS from South Park, so it really isn't a big deal to me. My neighbors are fantastic and could care less that I'm not LDS.
The nightlife is normal for a city this size. (only about 1 million) People talk about the liquor laws, but you get used to them pretty quick. The club memberships are about the same as they have in Italy, and the rest are about the same as the Bible Belt. i.e. Oklahoma.
I absolutely love it here. I am going snowboarding tomorrow and riding my motorcycle Sunday. There is every kind of outdoor activity you can think of nearby. If you want to chat or hang out when you visit, give me a shout. kayozzy@yahoo.com

Its pretty great. They have lots of things to do, it is predominantly white and LDS(mormon). People are very nice and it is a beautiful place.
wonderful there are lots of things you can do here you never get bored
It is a clean city with a large population of Mormons. There is not much nightlife to speak of, so you have to join clubs or find house parties. If you are an outdoors person, you will be in heaven. Great skiing, mountain biking, rockclimbing and hiking are right out your back door.
There are not many asians there. There is a large population of hispanics, but you don't really notice them there. The place is not very diverse culturally.
I have lived in salt lake city for 14 years now, first off you probably can't find a least diverse place than utah, over 75% of the population is white Mormon. not saying that is a bad thing, but you will find diversity, crime of all sorts here just like every other city. i think the pros of salt lake city for goes as follows: there is every type of outdoor activity except surfing possible, i mean you can drive for 20 minutes and be completely away from any kind of civilization, in these amazing mountains, or you could take a 3-4 drive and be in red rock land, camping, hiking, rafting , 4 wheeling. it is really hard to be bored in utah if you are an active person, plus we have the best snow in earth for ski/snow boarding. downtown slc is pretty cool too, it is small but you can find diverse things to do.i am moving soon for the navy and i will honestly miss this place. it is one of a kind.
