Best area to live / buy a house around Salt Lake City UT?

I'm looking into buying a house %26amp; would like to know which areas around Salt Lake City are the best (as far as low crime rate, low property taxes, etc.)

I know Rose Park is ghetto %26amp; has lots of crime. %26amp; West Valley doesn't really seem that nice any more either.

Getting a house near public transit (trax or frontrunner) would be best, but we also want a reasonable deal (the houses downtown are old, small %26amp; WAY too expensive).

Any Utahn's avaliable to answer would be great.Best area to live / buy a house around Salt Lake City UT?
I don't live in Salt Lake City, but you can check with some of the local Realtor's. They are familiar with all the areas.
