Yeah, I know, long trip. Should be fun. I welcome the advise.I'm going to Salt Lake City, Utah for a trip. What are some of the must-see places there?
Quite a road trip! Salt Lake City is a beautiful place.
If you're coming across on I-80 through Wyoming, you might want to take a slight detour and stop in Jackson Hole, WY and see the Grand Teton mountains.
Also, coming across on 80 you will go through Park City, UT. Downtown Park City is really nice to visit, there are shops and good restaurants, and an area dedicated to the winter olympics that were held here a few years ago.
Of course, the Mormon Temple Square is downtown Salt Lake City, and lots of people stop by to see the Tabernacle. They also have the Family History Library in that area where a lot of people go to do research on their geneology.
Personally, I would rather send you up into the Wasatch mountains that surround Salt Lake City to stop at one of the resorts there. Snowbird resort is beautiful and has activities year round, including a gondola that takes you to the top of the mountain. It's well worth seeing!
If you can, drive through the Moab area and see Arches and Canyonlands National Parks on your way south. The drive south through Utah is absolutely beautiful. Bryce and Zion National Parks in southern Utah are gorgeous too!
Feel free to email me and let me know if there is anything specific you are looking to see or do.
