Where take a 5-day Family Vacation near Salt Lake City, UT to introduce both sets of parents to each other?

Salt Lake City is about 500 miles between both sets of parents for my girlfriend and I. We would like to spend some quality time getting to know each other. We are not into a lot of physical activities, looking for relaxing fun.Where take a 5-day Family Vacation near Salt Lake City, UT to introduce both sets of parents to each other?
Try taking a dinner cruise on the Great Salt Lake

Visit the Red Butte Gardens downtown or the Gardens at Thanksgiving Point 30 minutes south of downtown.

Take a stroll around Temple Square and visit the Mormon Tabernacle Chior.

Have a fabulous dinner at either "The Melting Pot", "Bambara" or "Log Haven".

For less expensive dinners try "Applebees" or "The Macaroni Grill"

Have a picnic up one of the canyons -- Millcreek would be my choice.

Take a drive around the Alpine loop and stop off to see Cascade Springs.

Look up your ancestors at the genealogy library -- who knows, maybe the families are related if you go back a few generations.

Check out the city library downtown - Very cool architecture, lots of activities and rooftop gardens.
I'm not familiar with the SLC area, but I would recommend a shorter visit than that. Keep in mind they are strangers, even though they will eventually be family. I would think a weekend trip with a couple of meals together and perhaps a brief sightseeing activity would be plenty of time for a first visit. Longer than that and everybody might start getting on each others' nerves due to all the coordination and socializing. You don't want it to be forced, you want it to just be a fun "get to know you" opportunity.Where take a 5-day Family Vacation near Salt Lake City, UT to introduce both sets of parents to each other?
What is your question? Are you asking if it's a good idea? Are you asking what you should do while you are all together? Are you asking if Salt Lake is a decent place to stay? Are you looking for hotels or restaurants?
