In Salt Lake, what authority does parking enforcement have on pedestrians?

A group of friends and I were turned around and sent away by a parking enforcement officer, stating that we were trespassing on private property. When asked if we could remain on the street or sidewalk to enjoy the view of the city, he said no and that we had to leave.

All bark, and no bite?In Salt Lake, what authority does parking enforcement have on pedestrians?
Hell yeah all bark and no bite. unless the uniform has a gun then you should have said f off. but they can call the real police and do kind of work for the real police so you probably saved yourself a lot of grief. In DC they are their own thing, they even give DC cops tickets. So said something to them and then just walk away, but its not like they can arrest you or something unless it's different in Utah.
