How much does it cost to get married at the Mormon Temple in Salt Lake City?

I've heard it's quite expensive to attain the ultimate in celestial unions. How much does it cost to get married at the Mormon Temple in Salt Lake City?
Free!!

I was married just last month.

Onslow County, NC charged us 50 bucks for marriage license, took us about $20 in gas to drive to the Raleigh NC temple, $100 for dinner for four at Olive Garden after the ceremony.

But temple charged us zero dollars--of course. No temples charges anything.

Free, free free! Now where in corporate America do you ever hear that term?
Everything is basically free in the Mormon church - tithing pays for almost everything. Members can

get married in the temple

schedule a room in the chapel for personal use

use employment services

receive Sunday School and Priesthood/Relief Society manuals

take seminary classes

take sign language classes

take English/Spanish transition classes

all are free.

With a short interview from the Bishop, worthy members can also receive free food, money for utility bills, money for rent, furniture, and other necessities, when they cannot support themselves.

All any member has to do is pay a full and honest tithe - 1/10th of their gross wages.

There are many other services, such as adoption, counseling, and addiction recovery; some are free, and sometimes the member will be asked to pay part of the cost. How much does it cost to get married at the Mormon Temple in Salt Lake City?
It's free. There isn't an LDS church on the planet that charges for weddings, and since the rooms where the marriages take place in the temples are all pretty much the same, it doesn't really make a difference whether someone is married in the Salt Lake City temple or in one of the others. They're all equally beautiful, and the ceremony is the same. There really isn't an "ultimate in celestial unions."
You can't get a 'recommend' that is needed to enter a temple unless you paid a full tithe the previous year.

I personally know a couple who were starving students when they fell in love and realized they had better get married before they lost control. Their bishop refused to give them a recommend unless they paid tithing on their grants, loans and scholarships. They put $5,000 on a credit card and gave it to the LDS church. It almost derailed their educations.

Perhaps the LDS church will name a tile after them in the new multi billion dollar shopping mall it is building.

Their marriage is still strong, but this experience helped them see the LDS church for what it really is.

It is fascinating to me to see all the Mormons say the temple is free. While technically they are correct, it is certainly not a full nor honest answer. They use the same techniques when trying to convert people - tell them partial bits of truth and build a picture that is NOT correct.
No temple ordinances cost any money. The only costs involved would be travel and for clothing. If travel is prohibitively expensive, you can get married (or perform other ordinances) at a temple closer to you. If you are so poor that you cannot afford the necessary clothing, the Church will surely help you out.
As long as you pay your tithing, which is 10% of your increase, you can go to the temple, and they don't charge anything. Unless, of course, you find it expensive to live a Christ-like life, and follow His commandments.
You just have to pay for the marriage license and be a temple-worthy Latter-day Saint. It doesn't cost anything more.
Nothing of monetary value.
There is no charge to be sealed in any temple.
WHY NOT BE 2 IN ONE NATURE JOINED TOGETHER AS ONE IN THE NAME OF JESUS ( john 14 v 6 )

PEACEB4U2,2 !!!
You've heard incorrectly. There is no charge.
It will cost you your life and the lives of your children. See, you and your children get tentacles attached to the back of your necks and these tentacles control you for the rest of your life.
It depends on if you want to get married to your first wife or a later wife. You will not be able to attend your own wedding if you are not up to date on your tithes and in total communion with the LDS powers that be.
How much does it cost to believe in god?

Let me rephrase, does it cost anything to live a life according to the gospel that you believe in?
I think they charge per wife.
Two saw Bucks and a Bunch of Bananas with a smile
