How is the drive from Reno to Salt Lake City using 80 East?

I'm wondering whether it is a scary, cliffy drive or is it pretty mild? How is the drive from Reno to Salt Lake City using 80 East?
It's a pretty mild drive through a lot of desert. You'll most likely get bored more than anything.

Make sure your car has good AC and excellent music. You'll need it!
It's 520 miles of flat landscape, cacti, the occasional jack rabbit, and afternoon heat, heat, heat.

Yahoo! maps says it'll take just over seven hours to make the trip. Either start in the early morning to take advantage of the a.m. coolness, or in the late afternoon to take advantage of the p.m. temperature drop. Either way, about half your drive will be in the desert heat. How is the drive from Reno to Salt Lake City using 80 East?
Long, hot and boring!!!! Not a lot of places to stop, so fill the tank when the opportunity presents itself. Have water, drinks and snacks and CDs or ipods cuz there are areas where you won't get radio reception. Happy driving!!!
