Some people think that the lake is part of the city landscape like Chicago. Not true. The lake is several miles west of the city and can only be seen from the air. Two ery good spots exsist for picture taking the first is on the Southern grounds of the state capital building its elevated and the wide streets(wide enough for a loaded ox cart to turn) make for some amazing shots. The THIS IS THE PLACE monument is located in a natural there are limited views but on the drive out there are numerous places to pull over.
