Im staying near the downtown mormon temple area, and just read somewhere that the ZCMI mall closed? Are there any malls near this area to go shopping at? Anything to do in Salt Lake...what do you recommend to go see or visit. No i am not a mormon.Im visiting Salt Lake for a few days this upcoming week.. are there any malls there to shop at?
The Gateway mall is just down the street from temple square. You can catch trax to it. They have really good shopping plus things to do there. You could go to the zoo in Salt Lake City if the weather is nice then the elephant that was born last fall will be out. You could go to the living planet aquarium located in Sandy. You should take a tour of temple square there are thousands that visit temple square a year and not all of them are lds it is quite interestingly. You could catch trax up to the University of Utah and visit the Olympic museum.
Gateway mall is close by. The other close one is still under construction. I would HIGHLY recommend touring the LDS temple square. I know you are not a Mormon, but it is very interesting and you can even get a guided tour. It is 100% free too. You might be amazed at what you might learn. I suggest, the visitor's center, Joseph Smith Building (nice display of genealogy), the Tabernacle, and the grounds themselves are very nice.
Just my recommendation.Im visiting Salt Lake for a few days this upcoming week.. are there any malls there to shop at?
The other malls, that are not near by, but the bus can even take you there are Trolley square, fashion place mall, the copper mind, the great salt lake, the mountains have great trails and hiking and fishing.
there is a mall in downtown SLC somewhere, but i've never been to it so i couldn't tell you where. i travel to utah a couple times a year usually, and i know there is a mall on state street if you just get on it and keep going south, like south of murray, maybe in sandy. but if i were you i'd just walk around down town looking for that mall, the gateway.
