Is Salt Lake City a target city in a nuclear war?

I'm not actually a Mormon, but many of my friends are, and I LOVE Salt Lake City. It's one of the most beautiful cities in the country, but many people don't seem to know much about it. The mountains are stunning, the Mormon Temple is beautiful (once again, I remind you that I'm not actually Mormon, I'm a Lutheran), and the Great Salt Lake is really cool. Plus, they had the 2002 Olympics. So if anything really bad ever happens, will this city be destroyed? Is Salt Lake City a target city in a nuclear war?
I've lived in Salt Lake area my whole life, and it is a beautiful place.

To answer your question, my own opinion is there in nothing here to want to destroy. The only thing that comes to mind is the chemical weapons depot in a town called Tooele, pronounced Too ill uh. It is used to incinerate old chemical weapons. It's only about 30 miles west of Salt Lake, and south a bit. That could be target, but not nuclear. Another smaller target could be Hill Air Force Base in Clearfield, about 40 miles north of SL. I can't see any reason to nuke the place. I would think nukes would go to major metro areas, and government symbols such as New York, Los Angeles, and Washington D.C.

Anyway, I'm curioius why you bring religion into the equation at all, your question is about a terrorist attack, or act of war. The local majority religion has nothing to do with your question. AND there are more Mormons in California than Utah, a fact.
If we ever go to nuclear war, there won't be many targets, just aim and shoot. Salt Lake City most likely wouldn't be targeted as it wouldn't exactly weaken the American people or cause. Why are you worried about nuclear war anyways? (O_O)Is Salt Lake City a target city in a nuclear war?
Highly Unlikely, unless there is some sort of important military installment in the area... And I'm pretty sure the nearest one is somewhere in CO
It depends on who the war is with.

If it's Russia then maybe. There is a military/militarized airstrip there. Russia has a lot of nukes so it could possibly target Salt Lake City as it's a big enough city and Russia has lots of nukes.

If it's China, Britain, France, Israel, Iran, India, Pakistan or North Korea, or terrorists, then almost certainly no. There are much higher priority targets than Salt Lake City.

Countries with fewer nukes would likely target more important cities or cities with higher populations, or they would target military bases instead as they have fewer nukes to go around.

Countries like Britain, France, India and China almost certainly would not target Salt Lake City as they would want to maximize military and industrial damage, but minimize civilian casualties.

If it was an attack by America, such as a false flag mission to deliberately start a nuclear war with somebody else then Salt Lake City might also be a target. For example, Washington might nuke it and then blame somebody else in order to use it as a reason to nuke Iran or North Korea.
It already has nuclear fall out from the teats in the nevada desert from the atomic bomb = Trinity site in New Mexico, 1944...thats why people are a little off, ya know.
