Going on vacation the first week of November to visit family in Salt Lake City. I would like to know if it snows or not in November? I personally have seen snow fall before but my friend that is coming with me has not. How is the weather in Salt Lake City Ut in November?
Oh yes it snows! In fact it starts snowing in October! In your packing list I would include sweaters, boots, scarves, hats, and a cute coat. We can get sunny days, but it is still really cold with snow on the ground. Sometimes the snow melts, although it remains around no higher than the 50s. You don't need any heavy-duty clothing such as bulky winter clothing unless you are snow boarding or skiing.
I hope it ends up being a great experience for you and your friend! Many people underrate SLC. You can visit temple square, even if you are not Mormon. It is a neat experience. The Gateway at downtown is a great place to shop. They have stores such as Forever 21, Urban Outfitters, Apple, and much much more. It is outdoors, though, so dress warmly. Down at the Gateway the Rodizio Grill has recieved great reviews, and there is also a Cheesecake Factory on 6223 S. State right next to the Fashion Place Mall, although it is quite costly. There are also a few public parks in Sandy such as Flat Iron on 8600 South and "the sugar Bowl" is another park which is on 9800 south. There are many parks including those with great hills where you can go sledding with no cost.
Have fun! I hope this helps! Follow this link for more things to do in SLC

Mostly in the mountains, but sometimes it snows in the valley. The ski resorts open at around thanksgiving. We have the best ski resorts. You should try them if you bring skis.
