I'm doing a project and I still don't understand how the Great Salt lake got there in Utah. does anyone know? How did Great Salt lake get there in utah?
The Great Salt Lake is what remains of a huge inland sea at one time, called Lake Bonneville. Because there is no outlet from the Salt Lake, water evaporates and leaves concentrated salty water behind. Every spring when the snow melts, water flows back into the lake, but ove the summer, it evaporates again.
Here's some more info on it:How did Great Salt lake get there in utah?
Legend has it that Paul Bunyan was digging for gold in what is now called Utah. He piled all the earth on the southern end of the lake, which created a inland basin. All the snow from the Wasatch mtns melts each spring %26amp; runs into the Bear River %26amp; into the lake. Of course a lot of the water is taken out for irrigation along the way.
