Which area in Salt Lake City is very safe?

I'm going to study in the University of Utah this autumn.

I'm looking for an apartment now. I want to find a safe area in the Salt Lake City.

Can anybody give me a hint which area in the salt lake city is very safe?

I drive. So it's not a problem is the safe area has some distance from the university.

Besides, the Salt Lake City is not a very big town.

Thanks.Which area in Salt Lake City is very safe?
All areas in Salt Lake city are all the same

A lot of wannabe white boy wanksters, skin heads and meth heads. I've been there and that place sucks.Which area in Salt Lake City is very safe?
The avenues and up by the University are usually pretty safe if you want to stay close the University. Otherwise, Bountiful and North Salt Lake are very safe areas farther north. It would probably take you 20-30 minutes to get to the U from there. Farther south, Holladay and Murray would be very safe as well, and are about the same time distance from the U as Bountiful and North Salt Lake. Typically if you stay east of I-15 (about 500 W - 800 W), you should be just fine. There are a few exceptions, but for the most part, you should be fine. Salt Lake City in itself is not a very dangerous place compared to a lot of other cities, so the "unsafe" neighborhoods aren't really too bad, but there are definitiely better places to live, like the ones I mentioned.
