Where to live in salt lake city or surrounding areas?

My boyfriend and I are moving to Salt Lake City from Austin for a job transfer and we have no idea where to look for houses. We are 24 and 26 years old, non-mormon, and would like to experience some sort of night life. His territory will be all over utah so we are not tied down to living in Salt Lake City. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!Where to live in salt lake city or surrounding areas?
Park City is by far the most non-Mormon area. Salt Lake varies a lot by neighborhood, but the city proper is the least Mormon area, especially the 'Avenues' on the north slope.

Beware of most smaller cities if you want night life.
As long as you are in the Salt Lake Valley, I think you will be alright. The farthest suburb is only about a 20 minute drive to downtown salt lake, which is where the night life is. You can find mormons and non-mormons alike anywhere you look. Some areas might have more of one than the other but most people are very nice and neighborly. There is less crime in the suburbs, unless you go west of down town salt lake to the West Valley, Magna, Rose Park %26amp; Hunter areas (I'd stay away from those.) If you go north of the Salt Lake area, Bountiful, North Salt Lake and Kaysville are really nice. If you go south, you get in to Utah County (aka Happy Valley.) This is where you will find the highest population of mormons.

Draper is a really nice area that has a larger catholic population than other areas because it has a big private catholic school.

Hope this helps - Good Luck on your move!Where to live in salt lake city or surrounding areas?
