Where is a nice suburb of Salt Lake City?

I'm thinking about moving to the Salt Lake City area ... I have a number of relatives in Utah, but they are in smaller towns (Brigham City, Cedar City ...) I want to live in a bigger city for now because I think it would be best for my career.

I'm looking for somewhere out of Salt Lake City that is a reasonable driving distance, with good schools, nice, larger homes, and opportunities for recreation, shopping and dining. A good place to raise a family basically. I prefer somewhere that the houses are newer. Where would this be and how much are the homes?Where is a nice suburb of Salt Lake City?
Sandy is the nicest suburb of SLC. Nice homes start at about $200K.

23rd best place to live in the country. #1 in Utah. (2006)

Cottonwood Heights scored well in 2007. Much more expensive than Sandy though...Where is a nice suburb of Salt Lake City?
Bountiful is a very nice suburb of Salt Lake City. It is just north of the city and once you get up on the east side there are very nice homes ranging from $300k to $800K. The opportunities for recreation and dining are limited and everyone goes into SLC for this.

Or Sandy is a very nice suburb as well. You can find houses in many different price ranges, but the nicer ones are on the east side.

If you're looking for all new homes try South Jordan. Pretty much everything there is brand new.
