What is the place in Salt Lake City where people drive out at night to see the city?

I hear there is a place in Salt Lake City, Utah where people drive out at night to see an amazing view of the city. I think its know as " The Point" or something.What is the place in Salt Lake City where people drive out at night to see the city?
I'm not sure of the actual place, but I can assure you that it is nowhere near Seattle. You can not see Salt Lake from Seattle.
I think where you can find that big U on the mountains (the U stands for University of Utah because in other Utahan city Provo, there is a big Y on the mountains standings for Brigham Young University).
