Places to visit in yellowstone and salt lake city?

Yellowstone is terrific. If you can, stay at the Old Faithful Lodge. Nothing like having breakfast and having a geyser go off in the window. Staying in the park will enhance your experience greatly. (see below)

The National Park Service is very helpful when it comes to picking stops. The park roads are something of a figure-eight. We did the top half one day and the bottom half the other. The Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone is a must, and so are the geyser. And if you like hiking, there are plenty of suggestions.

Temple Square is definitely worth a visit. Sundays, the Mormon Choir tapes a television show that is open to the public. Definitely worth your time if it works for you. The city is amazingly clean. If you can travel a bit out of town, check out the Kennecott Copper Mine, which is stunning in a very unexpected way. (You can see it from space -- it's that big.)Places to visit in yellowstone and salt lake city?
I've only been to Salt Lake City, so I'm sorry but I can't help you with Yellowstone.

In Salt Lake City, I recommend taking the tour of Temple Square, which houses the Mormon Temple. It's a free tour (it was when I went...if it's not free, it's just a few bucks). I thought it was very interesting, even though I am not a Mormon.

Also, the City Library (in case there's more than one, here's the address of the one I'm thinking of: 210 East 400 South) is an absolutely stunning building. They have a few shops in there, along with a coffee shop and of course a library. They also have a platform on the roof which offers spectacular views of the city.

I haven't been to the Clark Planetarium, but it looks like it could be a neat place to visit (clarkplanetarium.org).

Also, Salt Lake City is relatively small and it's so neat to just walk around and take in the city.

Good luck with your trip and I hope I helped you!
